Athletic Events and Practices cancelled/postponed this afternoon and evening

All events including coop teams in gymnastics and girls ice hockey and practices are cancelled/postponed today 1/31/2017.  See schedule links for makeup dates.

  • Lakers Fall To Scituate (MA)
  • Despite Rob Ventola putting 19 points on the board, Silver Lake lost to Scituate 70-65. Scituate (MA) clinched their lead in the fourth quarter on a two-pointer.
  • Lakers charged on offense early in the game, claiming a 32-26 lead at the half, but Scituate ultimately rallied for the victory.
  • Ventola led the charge for Silver Lake's offense, scoring 19 points, with 11 points during the third period. He also contributed five rebounds and two steals.
  • Cam Keefe tapped out at double digits, scoring 12 points for Silver Lake (6-for-10). Joel Gerstenberg put up two three-pointers and scored eight points total. Also helping the effort for Silver Lake were Joe McDonald (8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal), Cyhrief Kenku(3 points, 2 rebounds), Dan Collins (3 points), and Jack Bettle (2 points, 6 rebounds).Keefe was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up eight rebounds.
  • Silver Lake finished the game with 31 rebounds (9 offensive / 22 defensive) and six steals.

  • Lakers Win Versus Duxbury (MA)
  • Rob Ventola scored 23 points to bring Silver Lake to a 74-62 victory over Duxbury on Friday. Lakers grabbed the lead against Duxbury (MA) on a two-pointer from Cam Keefein the second period and held on.
  • With a powerful 24-point second quarter on the strength of a 10-2 run, Silver Lake pulled ahead and eventually garnered a 33-27 lead by halftime.
  • Making 91% (10-for-11) of free throws attempted, Ventola had a great game from the line for Silver Lake.
  • Joel Gerstenberg put two three-pointers on the board and scored 10 points total. Three other players also scored in the double digits for Silver LakeKeefe added 18 points and Joe McDonald had 12 points. Also chipping in for Silver Lake were Jack Bettle (5 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal), Drew Neal (2 points, 1 rebound, 1 block), Sal Sillari (2 points, 1 rebound), and Cyhrief Kenku (2 points, 2 rebounds). Keefe was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up nine rebounds.
  • Silver Lake finished the game with 38 rebounds (9 offensive / 29 defensive), one block and six steals.

  • Lakers Win Versus Plymouth North (Plymouth, MA)
  • Silver Lake emerged victorious 66-54 against Plymouth North on Friday on the strength of Cam Keefe, who scored 13 points. On a two-pointer from KeefeLakers secured their lead in the third quarter.
  • Silver Lake fell behind early, trailing 32-30 by the half, only to come back hard in the final two quarters. With a game-high 19 points in the third quarter, Silver Lake gained some momentum late in the game.
  • Keefe put the most points on the board for Silver Lake during the third period by scoring six.
  • Two other players also scored in the double digits for Silver LakeRob Ventola scored 12 points and Joe McDonald had 12 points. Also chipping in for Silver Lake were Drew Neal (8 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals), Jack Bettle (6 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks), Cyhrief Kenku (6 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal), Aidan O'Neill (6 points), and Sal Sillari (3 points, 1 rebound, 1 block).
  • Silver Lake finished the game with 54 rebounds (26 offensive / 28 defensive), five blocks and 11 steals.

  • Lakers Fall Short Against Hingham (MA)
  • Despite Rob Ventola putting 23 points on the board, Silver Lake lost to Hingham 69-59. Hingham (MA) clinched their lead in the fourth quarter on a three-pointer.
  • Lakers pulled ahead early with a 16-point first quarter, eventually claiming a 31-28 lead by halftime. But this wasn't enough to triumph over Hingham's 38 points in the final two quarters of the game.
  • Ventola led the charge for Silver Lake's offense, scoring 23 points, with nine points during the fourth period. He also contributed two rebounds and one steal.
  • Cam Keefe achieved double digits, scoring 20 points for Silver Lake (9-for-14). Also contributing for Silver Lake were Joe McDonald (6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals), Joel Gerstenberg (3 points, 3 rebounds), and Jack Bettle (2 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks).Keefe was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up seven rebounds, one steal and two blocks.
  • Silver Lake finished the game with 44 rebounds (21 offensive / 23 defensive), four blocks and nine steals.

  • Lakers Lose To Quincy (MA)
  • Despite Rob Ventola putting 32 points on the board, Silver Lake lost to Quincy 73-62.
  • Despite a strong finish, with 26 points in the final quarter, Lakers failed to secure the win.
  • Ventola led the charge for Silver Lake's offense, scoring 32 points, with 14 points during the fourth period. He also contributed three rebounds and one steal.
  • Also chipping in for Silver Lake were Joe McDonald (7 points, 3 rebounds), Cam Keefe (7 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal), Drew Neal (6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal), Sal Sillari (4 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal), Andrew Gabra (3 points, 1 rebound), and Cyhrief Kenku (2 points, 2 rebounds).
  • Silver Lake finished the game with 27 rebounds (15 offensive / 12 defensive) and four steals.

  • Lakers Emerge Victorious Against North Quincy (MA)
  • Cam Keefe scored 24 points, helping Silver Lake notch a 87-64 victory over North Quincy on Tuesday.
  • A 14-4 run during the first quarter allowed Lakers to break away, eventually claiming a 45-40 lead by halftime.
  • Keefe put the most points on the board for Silver Lake during the first period by scoring 10.
  • Rob Ventola notched four three-pointers and scored 23 points total. Two other players also added ten or more points for Silver LakeJoe McDonald put up 10 points. Also chipping in for Silver Lake were Jack Bettle (7 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block), Aidan O'Neill(6 points, 1 rebound), Sal Sillari (5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block), Tyler Duggan (5 points, 1 rebound), Drew Neal (3 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal), Cyhrief Kenku (2 points, 5 rebounds), and Andrew Gabra (2 points).
